Dear Northside Family,
What an AWESOME time of the year. Spring has sprung. Flowers are blooming, It’s like a fresh start. I used to say New Year’s Day was a new start, but Spring feels more like a new start to me. April brings us Easter and what a special month it is. We celebrate Christmas as a wonderful event because God came to earth to walk among us in the person of His Son Jesus. This is always a special time and it is a wonderful time of celebration, but Easter is what really counts. Easter is what Christianity is all about. The baby Jesus came at Christmas and that’s wonderful and easy to celebrate. But Easter is painful to think about. The Son of God chose to go to the Cross and give His life for all of us. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21:
He who knew no sin became sin for us.
He made a personal choice to suffer, and to die for all humanity.
But thank God for the Resurrection, without the Resurrection, we have nothing. No hope. No assurance, and nothing to tell others. This Easter my hope for us all is that we can have a deeper appreciation of what Jesus did for us on the Cross and what God did at the tomb and have a greater desire to talk with others about their relationship with Jesus. He came for ALL, but He needs us to tell our story of what Jesus has done for us. Who is the one person you will tell about Jesus this Easter? Who’s your one?
Sharon and I love you ALL and call it an honor to pastor such a loving church!
God Bless.
Pastor Buckshot, Phil. 4:13
